Emma read music at Edinburgh University, and completed a postgraduate diploma in concert singing at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2007, studying with Helen Lawson. She has also studied with Jessica Cash, Eric von Ibler and Fiona Dobie, as well as taking part in masterclasses with Lorna Anderson, Julius Drake, Richard Jackson, Rudolf Jansen, Jane Manning, Malcolm Martineau, Ann Murray and Linda Ormiston. She currently studies with Pat McMahon.

As an oratorio soloist she has appeared with Ashford Choral Society, Ayr Choral Union, Bishops Stortford Choral Society, Edinburgh Symphony Baroque, Folkestone Choral Society, Glasgow Lyric Choir, Laudate, Oban Bach Choir, the Scottish Chamber Choir, St Andrew’s Chorus, Thames Voyces and
Whitstable Choral Society. Future 2009 performances include Vivaldi Gloria and Britten Ceremony of Carols with Cupar Choral Society, Vaughan Williams Dona Nobis Pacem with
Helensburgh Oratorio Choir and Haydn St Cecilia Mass with Glasgow Lyric Choir. An experienced choral singer, Emma currently sings with Canty, Cappella Nova and Ludus Baroque.

Emma performs regularly in recital, taking part in concert series and music festivals around the UK, recent appearances including the inaugural Balerno Music Festival, the Brechin Arts Festival and the West Kirk of Helensburgh Sunday at Seven series. Committed to bringing live music into the community, Emma is also an artist for Music in Hospitals and Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now.
